Chinise Pinla3D store makes life-size 3D printed replicas for $28,500
It’s not surprising that you can get a 3D printed mini-copy of yourself. In a new Chinese 3D printing shop you can get a life-size copy of you, if you wish, or your beloved one.
The 11th Pinla3D started on March 2 in east China’s Jiangsu province in Nanjing’s Wondercity Mall. This kind of store is the first in the city. There visitors can have themselves 3D scanned and printed. The bodies will be scanned and transmitted to the computer in about 3-5 minutes. Then the scanning will be followed by computer processing and sent to the 3D printer. 3D color printer can make the figures in any of the fifteen suggested size. The mini-selfies can be taken by the customers in two weeks.
However the figures are quite expensive even for the Chinese. The smallest mini-copy about 12.5 cm will cost you $162. For a bigger copy of 25 cm you’ll have to pay $580. A 1:1 life-size statuette will cost you as much as $28,500.
