New Matter Provides 3D Printers and Supplies to Schools and Universities
Educate and inspire are the two main goals of teachers regardless of the discipline or age group they belong. Though these two almost have the same meanings, the truth is they are different. You may not be inspired to learn Algebra but you are well educated in Literature, Art, and Science. Not all students are lucky to find something that will inspire them. There are plenty of graduates who are still looking for the answer that will change the paths of their lives. There are not the ones who are to be blamed for the situation instead it is the outdated curricula and also the access they have with the tools they need for them to engage with technology.
This present time, 3D printing can be considered the most significant area of technology that captures the interest of young individuals. However, not everyone can afford 3D printing. As a matter of fact, there are plenty of schools that don’t have the funds for purchasing the needed equipment for 3D printing. This hinders the students to learn more about this technology.
Educate and Inspire Grant of New Matter
New Matter had provided solution to this problem through their Educate and Inspire Grant that was presented last January. It involves $200,000 in 3D printers and supplies that will be given to 100 schools. Schools need to apply for the grant where recipients will be selected. New Matter had already announced the recipients who have won the grant. They have chosen the winners from over 450 applications that came from 45 states.
The CEO of New Matter, Steve Schell, was overwhelmed with the quality of applications that they have received. They were excited to build a population of educators who are passionate and imaginative and can utilize the MOD-t in encouraging their students to learn 3D printing.
The MOD-t is the flagship printer of New Matter and was created for educational purposes. It is quite and easy to use and also available at an affordable cost. You can actually have the printer for only $399. Each recipient will receive three MOD-t printers, 15 rolls of a 1kg filament, and additional 15 plates for the print surface. Winners of the grant include elementary, middle, and high schools, and there were also a few universities.
What the Future Holds for 3D Printing
Schell feel proud of giving the students the opportunity to experience 3D printing technology. 3D design will enhance the creativity of the new generation and the MOD-t printer will serve as the tool for them to make this thing possible. Schell will continue in helping educators teach students about 3D printing by providing them everything they need and incorporating the MOD-t printer for every classroom.
If ever that your school wasn’t lucky enough to win the grant, there are still various ways on how you can be able to integrate the printing technology of New Matter to your class without the need of spending much. You can check various offers of the company regarding the bundles and discounts that they provide to educators.
