Nike designs exclusive 3D printed football bag for Ronaldo, Neymar and Rooney
Nike expands the possibilities of innovative technologies and designs with 3D printers. A team of designers at Nike Soccer managed to design something absolutely new for its top players – the Nike Soccer Rebento Duffel, the first 3D printed performance sports bag. Neymar Jr., Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo are among the lucky ones, who are to get it and take to Brazil in summer, 2014.
Each bag has 3D printed small gold metalware and the name of the player. These bags show 3D printed base to its advantage as it looks like a stud plate, the one that is on the Magista and Mercurial boots. The lower part design also resembles the pattern of the Nike Flyknit Magista and Mercurial boots. Its interwoven weave design is produced of the absolutely flexible and durable 3D printing material, nylon, with laser sintering technology, a 3D printing process that constructs 3D parts with a laser to produce a powdered material selectively.
With 3D printing designers have the ability to combine carious designs into whole constructions, which, at the same time, saves weight if compared with the usual multi-part constructions. These 3D printed constructions are accompanied by hand-made leather of high quality on the bag upper part and thong. It’s fitted without seams, glue and adhesive.
