Portable TekBot 3D Printer: Small in Size, Simple to Assemble, Reliable in Printing
A German company TekLab that specializes in 3D printing has started a campaign to support the new TekBot portable 3D printer. The company has been doing business with 3D printing since 2013. This year they’ve started selling 3D printers and supplies for them. It was founded in 2005, when they started providing control panel for game, steam and voice servers.
You can use the TekBot to produce items from various materials. The early birds will get the TekBot at $214. The printer was designed to be user-friendly. If any details or parts need to be changed, they will be easy to find and replace. There are printer versions that feature an LCD display, which allows controlling the TekBot. It is small so that you could replace it easily. And at the same time its sizes allow you to print a wide variety of objects.
The printer’s build volume is 170x170x220 mm. The sizes of the printer itself are 36x43x42 cm. Using TekBot is not connected with dangers or difficulties, so it’s a good device to enrich your kids’ creativity. You may connect the printer to your computer via the USB port, check the settings, choose the model and print, or you may copy the file to an SD card and print from it. Working with and SD card is only possible for printers with an LCD display.
There is no need to preheat the printer bed. By the way, the final version of the printer has a removable printing bed. In addition, the printer works quietly and smoothly thanks to aluminum profiles and PTFE coating. The maximum power consumption is 70W.
TekBot is a new printer, but the risks connected with it are low. The first thirty printers are ready to be sent in December and January. The number of early bird kits is limited to 30 because it’s a holiday time and they want to be sure to be ready with them in time. In order to be able to get all the necessary constituents and parts in larger numbers TekBot ask for funding the project.
