3D Scanning Is Easy With Your Smartphone
Eora 3D is glad to introduce a high-precision user-friendly 3D scanner. It is powerful and smart and allows you to capture all kinds of objects. There are numerous 3D scanners in the world nowadays – conventional turntable or light scanners that can be connected via a tablet. But they may seem too costly. Eora’s 3D scanner is really affordable, also being precise, fast and portable.
You download the Eora 3D App either from Google Play Store or iOS Apple Store and connect to the scanner via Bluetooth 4.0. The Eora 3D scanner helps you make highly precise full-colour scans – nearly 100 microns. One scan can be up to 1 square meter (3 square feet x 3 square feet). To scan larger objects just make several scans and join them together with desktop software or with the app.
What makes the Eora 3D scanner so peculiar is its green laser. Red lasers are more common for 3D scanners. However green spectrum is better perceived by camera sensors. This allows high quality scanning in various lightning conditions.
Another peculiarity of Eora is that there is no need for a turntable. Instead the app joins together scans from multiple angles making a model. With turntables it’s far easier to scan small objects. So Eora 3D scanner has wireless turntable that can be connected to the scanner through Bluetooth.
It is really easy to scan with Eora and the app. You just press “Scan” and the process starts. There is “Library”, where all the 3D models are kept. You can also share them with built-in Dropbox and load the 3D models you already have.
Seeing and holding Eora 3D scanner for the first time is a wonderful experience. To provide high precision of the scans the system should be rigid, so that no vibrations could spoil the process. That’s why the chassis is a single unit of aluminum.
The company has done hard work developing this scanner. But developing hardware is always connected with some risks and challenges. Their campaign on Kickstarter will help them determine the number of units for Eora to produce.
